Troubleshooting

My AI agent cannot connect to PostEverywhere.

Most failures are a blocked sign-in window, the wrong account, no plan yet, a revoked key or the wrong workspace. Remove the connector and add it again.

Updated 23 October 2026

Most connection problems come from the sign-in step: the window was blocked or closed, you signed in to the wrong PostEverywhere account, or your account has no plan yet. Fix the cause below, then remove the connector in your AI app and add it again.

Quick fix

  1. In PostEverywhere, open Agents in the sidebar and click the Connected tab. If your app is listed, click Disconnect.
  2. In your AI app, remove PostEverywhere.
  3. Add it again from the Agents page, following the steps on your app's card.
  4. When the window titled Connect ... to PostEverywhere opens, check the account shown next to Signed in as, then click Approve.

Causes and fixes

The sign-in window never opened, or closed on its own Your browser may block pop-ups. Allow pop-ups for your AI app and try again. In a desktop app, look for a browser tab that opened in the background.

You signed in with the wrong account The consent window shows Signed in as with your email. If it is not the account that owns your social accounts, click Cancel, sign out of PostEverywhere in that browser, and start again. You can sign in with Google, your email and password, or Email me a login link instead. Apple sign-in is only available in the iPhone app. If you signed up with Apple and do not see that option in the agent's window, see I signed up with Apple. Why is Apple sign-in missing when I connect Claude?.

You were sent to choose a plan An account with no plan cannot connect an agent. Start the trial or pick a plan when asked, and you are sent back to the Approve screen.

The agent connects but every call fails The connection may be tied to the wrong workspace. An agent uses the workspace that was active when you approved it. Switch workspace in PostEverywhere, then connect again. See How AI agents and API keys work with workspaces.

Your API key stopped working If your app uses a key instead of a sign-in, check it on the Developers page. A revoked key cannot be used again; create a new one. Check it has the scopes your agent needs (Read, Write, and AI for captions and images). The key must be sent as the header Authorization: Bearer pe_live_.... See Getting an API key.

You disconnected it by mistake Disconnect on the Agents page stops the agent at once. Connect it again from the Connect tab.

Connections made by signing in last about a year, then the agent asks you to sign in again.

Steps for each app

Claude Open Customize then Connectors. Remove PostEverywhere, then add it again from the Agents page, or press +, choose Add custom connector, name it PostEverywhere and paste https://mcp.posteverywhere.ai. Press Add, then Connect, sign in and Approve.

ChatGPT In ChatGPT on the web, open Plugins. Remove PostEverywhere, then press + and Add custom MCP server with the same address as the Server URL. Set authentication to OAuth, install it, sign in and approve. On a work account your admin may need to allow custom plugins.

Claude Code Type /mcp, pick posteverywhere and choose Authenticate, then sign in in the browser. If posteverywhere is missing, run the command from the Claude Code card on the Agents page again and keep --scope user. Without it the server only exists in the folder you ran it in. You can also run npx @posteverywhere/cli connect to set up every coding agent on your machine at once.

Cursor Restart Cursor, then open Cursor Settings and the MCP section (newer builds list MCP servers under Customize) and sign in to posteverywhere when asked. MCP servers need a paid Cursor plan. If the Add to Cursor button did nothing, add the server to ~/.cursor/mcp.json with the snippet on the Cursor card, or run npx @posteverywhere/cli connect.

Codex CLI Run codex mcp login posteverywhere.

Gemini CLI Run /mcp auth posteverywhere.

Still stuck

Open Logs in the sidebar. If calls appear there with errors, the connection works and the error message names the problem. If nothing appears, the agent never reached PostEverywhere. Contact us with the name of your AI app and what the sign-in window showed. See How do I reach a human?.
