How do I post to Pinterest with PostEverywhere?
Connect a Pinterest business account and schedule image, carousel and video pins with a board, title, description, clickable link and alt text.
Updated 23 October 2026
Connect your Pinterest business account and schedule pins to your boards.
Connect
- If you have a personal Pinterest account, convert it to a business account first. It is free: pinterest.com/business/convert.
- Open Accounts and click Add Account next to Pinterest.
- Sign in to Pinterest and approve PostEverywhere.
To connect a different Pinterest account, log out of Pinterest first.
What you can pin
| Limit | |
|---|---|
| Description | Up to 500 characters. Hashtags work |
| Image pin | 1 image, JPG, PNG or WEBP, at least 200 x 300 pixels |
| Carousel pin | 2 to 5 images |
| Video pin | 1 video, 4 seconds to 15 minutes, MP4, MOV or M4V, up to 2 GB. A cover image is required |
| Text only | Not allowed |
More than 5 images are refused before scheduling, with the count to remove.
Settings in the post editor
Open Customise per platform and the Pinterest card.
- Board: required. Pick a board from your account. Click refresh if a new board is missing. If your account has no board at all, PostEverywhere creates one named "PostEverywhere".
- Section: optional. A section inside the chosen board.
- Pin Title: optional, up to 100 characters. If you leave it blank, the first line of your text is used.
- Description: the pin text. Pinterest indexes it for search, so include words people search for.
- Destination URL: the link people go to when they click the pin. This is what makes a pin clickable.
- Alt Text: a description of the image for accessibility and Pinterest's image search.
Making the link clickable
Set the Destination URL in the Pinterest card. A link in the description is plain text on Pinterest. Bulk CSV upload cannot set a pin link: open each pin in the editor and set the Destination URL, or create pins through the API.
Troubleshooting
- "Pinterest authentication failed": the account must be a business account. Convert it, then connect again.
- Board missing: click refresh next to the board list, or reconnect your Pinterest account.
- Video pin fails straight away: add a cover image. Pinterest requires one for video pins.
