How do I make the link on a Pinterest pin clickable?
Set the Destination URL in the Pinterest tab under Per platform. Bulk upload cannot set it, and a CSV column called link is read as media.
Updated 23 October 2026
Set the Destination URL in the Pinterest tab of the composer. That is the link people open when they click your pin. A link in the description is not clickable.
Steps
- Click New Post and select your Pinterest account.
- Add your image or video and write the description.
- Click Per platform and open the Pinterest tab.
- Choose a Board and fill in Destination URL (optional Pin Title, Section and Alt Text too).
- Click Done, then Schedule or Publish now.
Bulk upload
The CSV has no column for the pin link, board or title. A column called "link" or "url" is read as the media file, not as the destination. For pins from a CSV, open each pin after upload and set the Destination URL, or create the pins through the API, which has a link field.
Details
- With two Pinterest accounts selected, choose Each account's default board, or post to one account at a time. A board belongs to one account.
- A video pin needs a cover image.
