What are the character and media limits for each platform?
Character limits, how many images or videos you can attach, and video length per platform. The composer blocks a post that is over a limit.
Each platform has its own limits. The composer checks your post against every selected platform and shows Too long or a blocker before you can schedule it.
Limits per platform

Media requirements
- Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest and YouTube need media. YouTube takes video only.
- Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Bluesky and WordPress need a caption. The others accept a media-only post.
- A post can have images or one video, not both, on every platform.
File formats and sizes
Images: JPG, PNG, GIF, WebP, HEIC, HEIF, AVIF, SVG. Videos: MP4, MOV, AVI, WebM, MKV, M4V, 3GP. Documents: PDF (LinkedIn only).
Videos are converted to MP4 after upload. The upload limit depends on the platforms you select. See the video formats article for the sizes.
Tip
If one platform is over the limit, give it a shorter caption under Per platform instead of cutting the caption everywhere.
