AI agents and API
Does the API limit how much I can post?
No posting cap from PostEverywhere. Platforms set their own limits, and fast bursts of API calls can be rate limited briefly; the API says when to retry.

There's no posting cap from PostEverywhere. Platforms enforce their own limits, and very fast bursts of requests can be rate limited for a moment; the API tells your agent when to retry.
What this means in practice
- Schedule or publish as many posts as you need. Every plan includes unlimited posts.
- If your agent or script sends a burst of requests faster than the API accepts, the answer is
429with aRetry-Afterheader. Wait that long and try again. Every response also carriesX-RateLimit-RemainingandX-RateLimit-Resetso your code can slow down before that happens. - Each social platform has its own rules, for example daily upload caps on YouTube and TikTok. When a platform refuses a post, the failure reason says so and you can retry later.
- Very high volumes on some platforms, X (Twitter) in particular, can be spaced out or held and sent when the platform allows it. Nothing is lost.
Tips
- Use an
Idempotency-Keyheader onPOST /v1/postsso a retry after a timeout never creates a second post. See Common API errors. - Scheduling for later is the cheapest path: the request is accepted at once and publishing happens at the scheduled time.
- AI agents connected through the Agents page follow the same rules as an API key.
Developers who need the exact technical thresholds for building retry logic can find them in the developer reference.
