Troubleshooting

A post failed. How do I see why and retry?

Open the post from Calendar or All Posts. Each platform shows its status and the reason it failed. Click Retry Failed to send it again.

Updated 23 October 2026

Open the post from Calendar or All Posts. Platforms that failed are shown in red with the reason. Fix the cause if there is one, then click Retry Failed.

Steps

  1. Open Calendar or All Posts and click the post.
  2. Each account shows its status: Scheduled, Publishing, Retrying, Posted or Failed. A failed account shows the reason underneath.
  3. Fix the cause. The most common ones are listed below.
  4. Click Retry Failed. All failed accounts in that post are queued again and go out within a few minutes. The others are left alone.

You also get an email, "Your post didn't publish", with the same reason and a link to Reconnect the account or Open the post in your calendar. If several posts fail within a couple of minutes of each other, they come in one email.

Common reasons and fixes

Message you see What to do
Your account connection has expired. Please reconnect this account in Settings. Open Accounts and click Reconnect on that account. Use Reconnect, not Remove, so scheduled posts stay in place.
This account needs to be reconnected, its connection to the platform was lost. Same: Accounts › Reconnect. For Instagram, make sure it is still linked to its Facebook Page.
Instagram has flagged this account with a security checkpoint. Log in at instagram.com, clear the checkpoint there, then Reconnect. Reconnecting before that fails again.
Your Instagram account is set to Personal. In the Instagram app: Settings, Account type and tools, switch to a Business or Creator account. Then retry.
You're posting too frequently. The platform has temporarily limited how often this account can post. Wait an hour or two and retry. Space posts further apart. See Platform posting limits.
You've reached this platform's posting limit for this account. The platform's daily cap for that account. Wait, then retry.
You've reached this platform's daily upload limit. Try again tomorrow. YouTube's daily upload limit on your channel. Wait 24 hours.
Your media is too large for this platform. Use a smaller file.
Your post exceeds the platform character limit. Shorten the text for that platform with Customise per platform.
The platform could not process this video. Export the video again as MP4 (H.264 video, AAC audio) and retry.
Facebook removed this account's Page permissions. If you manage the Page, reconnect and approve all permissions and Pages. If someone else owns it, ask them to make you Admin or Editor first.
The platform has suspended or restricted this account. Resolve it with the platform. Reconnecting will not help.

Details

  • Temporary problems are retried automatically before the post is marked failed. You only need to act when you see Failed.
  • Analytics › Delivery lists failed posts grouped by cause, most common first.
  • A connected AI agent can do this too: ask it to show failed posts and retry them (get_post_results, retry_failed_post).
