How do I write an X thread or an X Article?

Change the Post type at the top of the composer to Thread or X Article. A thread is a numbered series of posts. An X Article is a long post with a title that publishes to X (Twitter) only and needs X Premium.

X thread#

1. Click New Post and set Post type to Thread.
2. Select an X account. Threads also work on Bluesky, Telegram and Discord.
3. Write the first post in the main box.
4. Click Add Another Tweet for each next post. Each X post must fit 280 characters unless the account has X Premium.
5. Click Schedule or Publish now.

The composer warns you if a selected account cannot post threads.

X Article#

1. Set Post type to X Article.
2. Select the X account. Articles publish to X only, so deselect other accounts.
3. Add an Article title (up to 100 characters).
4. Write the article in the main box (up to 25,000 characters). Formatting: # Heading, bold, italic, - item for a list, > text for a quote, --- for a divider.
5. Add up to 5 images. The first image is the cover. Place another image in the text with . Videos are not accepted.
6. Click Schedule or Publish now.

Limits#

• X limits how many Articles an account can publish in a day. If you schedule more than X allows, the extra ones are held and sent when X allows them. A third article waits until the window reopens.
• X itself also limits article actions per account per day.
• AI Studio can write both: choose Thread or X Article under Post and click Use in post.
