Can I post text only, or media only without a caption?

Text-only posts work on every platform except Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest and YouTube, which need media. Media-only posts (no caption) work on X (Twitter), TikTok, Threads, Pinterest, Telegram and Discord.

Platforms that need media#

• Instagram: an image or a video
• TikTok: a video or 1 to 35 images
• Pinterest: an image or a video
• YouTube: a video

Platforms that need a caption#

Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Bluesky and WordPress refuse a post with no text. If one of these is selected and the caption is empty, the publish button says which platform needs a caption. Add it in the main box or in that platform's box under Per platform.

YouTube#

A YouTube video needs a title. Set it in the YouTube tab under Per platform.

Google Business Profile#

An update needs text. An event or an offer needs its details instead.
