Plans and billing
Why was I charged? Trial dates and the first payment
The 7-day free trial ends on the date shown in Settings > Billing as Trial ends. Your card is charged then unless you cancelled before.
Your card is charged when the 7-day free trial ends. The exact date and time are shown in Settings > Billing as Trial ends. The first payment happens on that date unless you cancelled before it. We also email you about two days before the trial ends, with the amount and the date.
Check your dates
- Go to Settings > Billing.
- Look at the Plan section. During the trial it shows Trial ends and the date. After the first payment it shows Renews and the next date.
- The Invoices section shows every charge with its date and amount.
Common reasons for a charge
- The trial ended. The trial is 7 days from the moment you added your card. The plan starts automatically when it ends. The in-app banner says "Your trial ends today - subscription starts automatically" on the last day.
- You clicked Activate Early. This button in Settings > Plans ends the trial and charges the plan straight away.
- A renewal. Monthly plans renew every month and yearly plans every year on the Renews date.
- You changed plan. Upgrades are charged straight away for the rest of the period. See How upgrades, downgrades and proration work.
- An add-on. Add-ons are charged when you buy them, for the rest of the current period. See What add-ons can I buy?.
- The trial was not available. The free trial is for new customers. If the email on the account already had a trial before, the plan may start without one. The checkout page says so before you pay.
Stop future charges
Cancel in Settings > Billing > Manage subscription. The plan stays active until the end of the period you paid for and does not renew.
