How do I post to Bluesky with PostEverywhere?
Connect Bluesky with an app password and post up to 300 characters, 4 images or a 3-minute video, with reply controls, content warnings and threads.
Updated 23 October 2026
Connect your Bluesky account with an app password and schedule posts, images, videos and threads.
Connect
- In Bluesky, go to Settings, then Privacy and Security, then App Passwords. Click Add App Password and copy it. It looks like
xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx. Direct link: bsky.app/settings/app-passwords. - In PostEverywhere, open Accounts and click Add Account next to Bluesky.
- Enter your Handle, for example
yourname.bsky.socialor your custom domain. No @ and no spaces. - Paste the App password and click Connect.
Never enter your main Bluesky password. An app password can be revoked in Bluesky at any time without changing your real password. If your account has two-factor authentication, only an app password works.
What you can post

|---|---|
| Text | Up to 300 characters. Text-only posts are fine |
| Images | Up to 4 per post, JPG, PNG or WEBP. Large images are compressed to Bluesky's size |
| Video | 1 per post, up to 3 minutes and 100 MB, MP4 or MOV |
Links, @mentions and #hashtags in your text become clickable on Bluesky.

Troubleshooting
- "Bluesky did not recognize that handle": use the full handle, like
yourname.bsky.social, with no @. - "Your account has two-factor auth, so your main password will not work": create an app password and use that.
- "Bluesky rejected that handle and app password combination": check the handle, and create a fresh app password if in doubt.
- "Bluesky is rate-limiting sign-in attempts": wait 5 to 10 minutes, then try again.
- "Bluesky session expired" on the Accounts page: the app password was revoked. Create a new one and click Reconnect.
