Setup in Grok

Add PostEverywhere as a Grok custom connector

There is nothing to install and no config file. The connector lives on your Grok account rather than your device, and it takes about a minute on a personal plan.

  1. 1

    Open Connectors in Grok.

Go to grok.com/connectors. In the Grok phone apps it sits under Settings, then Connectors. It is the same flow and the same server either way.

  2. 2

    Add a custom connector.

Click New Connector, then choose Custom, and paste the PostEverywhere address. There is no client ID, secret or API key to find on this path: the server handles sign-in itself.

    https://mcp.posteverywhere.ai
  3. 3

Sign in to PostEverywhere and approve.

A window opens on PostEverywhere’s sign-in page. Log in with your normal account and approve access. If the window hangs on “Connecting”, close it and try once more; the second attempt almost always completes.

  4. 4

    Check it works.

Start a new conversation and ask: “Show me my connected social accounts on PostEverywhere.” Grok calls list_accounts and returns your linked accounts with their status. If you see them, you are live.

What you need to connect Grok to social media

A Grok account and a PostEverywhere plan or active 7-day trial with at least one connected social account. On personal Grok plans you add the connector yourself. On Grok Business or Enterprise, a team admin provisions it first in the cloud console at console.x.ai, under Grok Business, Connectors, Add Connector, Other. If New Connector is greyed out for you, that is why.

What you can ask

Grok prompts to schedule social media posts while a story is moving

Grok suits the fast turnaround: something is happening, you want a take, and you want it out before it stops mattering. Say post or schedule and give a time, or Grok will happily write the text and stop there.

Ask Grok
  • “Something is trending in our category right now. Draft a take and schedule it for the next busy hour.”

Drafts to the moment and queues it, rather than leaving you to paste it somewhere while the moment passes.

  • “Post this to X now and schedule the same thing for LinkedIn and Threads this afternoon.”

Publishes where timing matters and queues the slower networks: cross-posting with a different urgency per platform.

  • “What did we post this week, and which one actually landed?”

Reads back the week with the engagement figures each network reports, so you can ask for more of what worked.

  • “Turn this X thread into one LinkedIn post and schedule it for tomorrow at 9am.”

Rewrites short-form into a single longer post and schedules it to your LinkedIn page or profile.

  • “A post failed this morning. Find out why and retry it.”

Checks get_account_health and get_post_results, then calls retry_failed_post once the account is healthy.

Skills for Grok

Skill-style prompts for Grok, ready to paste

Grok does not load skill files, but the connector gives it the same tools the skills use. So the prompts below are written the way a skill would run the job: name the accounts, the time and whether to publish, schedule or save a draft, and Grok calls the right PostEverywhere tools in order.

Use the prompts as written

Paste a prompt into a Grok chat with the PostEverywhere connector switched on. Each one links to the skill it is based on, so you can read the full playbook on GitHub.

Your calendar

Fast posts from Grok, still on one calendar

Speed does not mean losing track. Every post Grok publishes or schedules shows up in your PostEverywhere calendar with its accounts, its time and a status (Scheduled, Publishing, Posted or Failed). Anything queued can be edited or deleted before it goes out, in the app or by asking Grok.

Now or later, per network.
One message can publish to X immediately and hold LinkedIn for the afternoon. Each destination keeps its own time.
Nothing unprompted.
Grok only posts when you ask it to. The connector does not watch your feed or publish on its own.
Only what you authorised.
Grok reaches the accounts you connected in PostEverywhere and nothing else. It cannot read your replies or DMs.

Post from Grok to X (Twitter), LinkedIn and every top platform

Grouped by cause, most common first

This video is outside the length TikTok allows for this account.

Example data

  • Publishing. Create posts, publish now, schedule for any future time, save drafts, and send one post to any mix of your connected accounts. Bulk scheduling is there when one prompt turns into a week of posts.

  • Media. Import an image or video from a public link in one call, or generate an image from a prompt with your plan’s AI credits. Video generation lives in AI Studio in the app rather than in the connector.

  • Account health. Check every connection before posting, so an expired token never quietly eats a scheduled post. The usual fix for a failure is reconnecting that account in the app.

  • Results. Pull per-post results and engagement into the conversation, where Grok can reason about them. What each network reports varies, so some numbers will be missing on some platforms.

  • X Articles. Grok can schedule a long-form X Article if the connected X account has Premium. Articles go to X only, with a title of up to 100 characters.

  • Not included. Replying to comments, reading DMs and connecting new social accounts. Publishing and reporting only.

Why a connector

Why Grok needs a connector to post at all

Grok has no social media integrations of its own. It does not hold your Instagram login, it has no relationship with the LinkedIn API, and even on X it writes rather than publishes. Connecting it to “social media” is not something you can do directly. What you can do is give it a connector: an external server with tools it is allowed to call.

One request, one result per accountExample data

  • That standard is the Model Context Protocol, first proposed by Anthropic in 2024 and since adopted widely, including by xAI. Grok added connectors, with support for bringing your own MCP server, in 2026. So the chain has three links: Grok reasons. PostEverywhere publishes. The network receives.

  • The middle link is the one that matters. PostEverywhere holds the authorised connection to each network and talks to each one through its official API, so your accounts stay compliant, nothing is scraped, and no password ever enters the conversation.

  • Grok fits the fast turnaround. When something is happening now, asking Grok is quicker than opening a dashboard. For longer planned work, such as a month of brand content in one voice, you may prefer a different assistant, and that is fine: the connector is per assistant, the PostEverywhere account is one, and the content calendar they publish into is shared. Our comparison of AI agents for social media sets out which ones can publish.

  • For the permissions behind any assistant connection, safe agent access to your accounts covers what to grant and what to hold back. If something goes wrong, the usual suspects are on this page: the hanging sign-in window, the greyed-out button on work plans, and prompts that say write when they mean schedule.

  • Grok connectors cost nothing extra on personal plans, and the MCP server is on every PostEverywhere plan from $9 a month. See pricing, or start the trial and connect Grok in the next minute.

FAQ

Grok connector troubleshooting and FAQ

Straight answers about plans, platforms and how scheduling works.

How do I add a custom connector in Grok?

Open grok.com/connectors (or Settings, then Connectors, in the phone apps), click New Connector, choose Custom, paste https://mcp.posteverywhere.ai and sign in to PostEverywhere when asked.

Where are Grok connectors?

On the web at grok.com/connectors. In the phone apps, under Settings, then Connectors. Connectors are saved to your account, so one you add on the web is also there on your phone.

Why is New Connector greyed out on my work account?

On Grok Business or Enterprise, a team admin has to provision the connector first in the cloud console at console.x.ai. Until they do, you cannot add it from any menu. On personal plans the option is available straight away.

Can Grok post to LinkedIn?

Yes, with the PostEverywhere connector. Connect your LinkedIn profile or company page in PostEverywhere, and Grok can publish or schedule posts to it. See the LinkedIn scheduler for what LinkedIn posts support.

Can Grok post to X (Twitter) directly?

Not on its own. Grok writes the post; PostEverywhere publishes it through the X API to the X account you connected. The X scheduler covers threads, X Articles and limits.

Does Grok support MCP servers?

Yes. Grok’s custom connectors are remote MCP servers. PostEverywhere’s is at https://mcp.posteverywhere.ai and signs you in with your PostEverywhere account, so there is no key to paste.

Grok answers but never schedules anything. Is it broken?

Almost certainly not. Name the action and a time: “schedule this for 9am tomorrow”, not “write a post”. Otherwise Grok returns text and stops, which is the most common thing mistaken for a broken connector.

Is there a free trial?

Every plan starts with a 7-day free trial. A card is required to start it, $0 is due today, and you can cancel anytime. There is no free plan.
