Setup in Perplexity
Add PostEverywhere as a Perplexity custom connector in the web or desktop app
Perplexity can talk to remote Model Context Protocol servers through custom connectors. The whole flow is: open connectors, paste an address, pick sign-in, approve. It takes about two minutes and needs no code.
- 1
Open Connectors.
In Perplexity, go to Settings, then Connectors. You will see the built-in catalog next to the option to add your own. Perplexity’s help article on adding custom remote connectors shows the current screens.
- 2
Add a custom remote connector.
Choose to add a custom connector, give it a name such as PostEverywhere, and paste the server address.
https://mcp.posteverywhere.ai - 3
Pick OAuth and Streamable HTTP.
Perplexity offers OAuth, API Key or None for authentication, and Streamable HTTP or SSE for transport. Choose OAuth and Streamable HTTP, and leave any client ID and secret fields empty: the server handles sign-in itself.
- 4
Sign in and approve the tools.
A window opens on the PostEverywhere sign-in page. Log in with your normal account, then approve the tool list. Your password never goes near Perplexity.
- 5
Run a sanity check.
Start a thread and ask: “Show me my connected social accounts on PostEverywhere.” Perplexity calls list_accounts and returns your linked accounts with their status.
What you need to connect Perplexity to social media
A paid Perplexity plan: custom connectors need Pro, Max or Enterprise, and the free version of Perplexity only has the built-in catalog. You also need a PostEverywhere plan or active 7-day trial with at least one social account connected, because the connector only reaches accounts you have already authorised.
Research, then publish
Perplexity prompts that schedule social media posts
There is little point using Perplexity as a generic writing assistant. The requests worth running use its research first and then hand the result to PostEverywhere. For prompt ideas without the publishing step, see how to use Perplexity for social media.
“Find what changed in Instagram’s ranking this quarter, cite your sources, write a plain-English post about it and schedule it for tomorrow at 9am.”
Research with citations, then one create_post with an image you supply or generate.
“Research the three biggest stories in our industry this week and draft a roundup for LinkedIn. Schedule it Friday morning.”
Turns a week of reading into one scheduled post.
“What are people saying about this product category right now? Draft a contrarian take and queue it for Tuesday.”
Uses live web results as the brief, so the post reflects this week, not the model’s training data.
“Which of my accounts have gone quiet in the last fortnight?”
Reads list_posts per account and reports the gaps.
“Did anything fail to publish this week? Retry it if so.”
Finds failed destinations and calls retry_failed_post.
Skills for Perplexity
Turn Perplexity answers into posts with skill-based prompts
Perplexity cannot install skill files, so this section gives you the prompts instead. Each one mirrors a PostEverywhere skill: research first, then write posts that cite what you found, then publish, schedule or save drafts through the connector.
Use the prompts as written
Use them in the Perplexity web or desktop app with the PostEverywhere connector turned on. The skill each prompt comes from is linked under it.

From thread to calendar
Turn Perplexity research into scheduled posts
Perplexity researches and decides; PostEverywhere holds the connections, fits each post to each network’s rules and publishes through the official API. Every post the thread schedules appears in your PostEverywhere calendar, so the research is in one place and the schedule is in another, and you can still edit any post before it goes out.
- Sources stay in the thread.
- Perplexity keeps its citations in the conversation. Ask it to put the key link in the post if you want readers to see the source.
- A different version per network.
- Ask for a long LinkedIn post and a short X post from the same research. Each is scheduled to its own account.
- Edit before it goes.
- Scheduled posts stay editable in the calendar, or through the same tools, until they publish.

Example data
The Comet limitation to know first. Comet, Perplexity’s browser, supports the built-in catalog but not custom MCP connectors. Custom servers work in the Perplexity web app, the desktop app and Computer. If Comet is where you spend your day, do the publishing step in one of those. Perplexity’s note on local and remote MCPs lists which surface supports what.
The connector option is missing. Check your Perplexity plan first. It is by far the most common cause: custom connectors only appear on Pro, Max and Enterprise.
Tool calls fail after connecting. Confirm the transport is Streamable HTTP rather than SSE, and that your PostEverywhere subscription is active. The server refuses calls from an inactive workspace instead of failing quietly.
Not the same as Perplexity’s own MCP server. Perplexity publishes an MCP server that gives other assistants its search. That is a different thing. PostEverywhere’s server goes the other way: it gives Perplexity publishing tools.
Schedule while you learn. Read the tool list once before approving, and schedule rather than publish now for the first few runs. A published post usually cannot be recalled, because most platform APIs do not allow it.
Out of scope. Replying to comments or DMs, and connecting a new social account. Those stay with a person in the PostEverywhere app.

One request, one result per accountExample data
Perplexity is a research engine with a strong model in front of it. It reads the live web, cites what it finds and reasons over the result. What it has never had is a credential for your Instagram account, and with this setup it still does not. It has a scoped connection to PostEverywhere, which you can revoke from your dashboard at any time.
Where the publishing logic is fixed (every research digest goes to the same accounts on the same day), an assistant in the middle adds cost and a small chance of surprise. A script calling the social media API does that job better, and automating posting with the API shows how. Many teams run both: a script for the routine flow, Perplexity for the posts that need judgement.
If you run Perplexity for a team, set up team workspaces so each brand’s accounts stay separate, and see managing multiple accounts for the structure. Every plan includes the MCP server and the API, from $9 a month. Compare plans.

FAQ
Perplexity social media FAQ
Straight answers about plans, platforms and how scheduling works.
Can Perplexity post to social media?
Yes, through a custom connector to PostEverywhere. Perplexity has no social integrations of its own; the connector lets it schedule and publish to Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, X (Twitter), Threads, Pinterest, Bluesky, Discord, Telegram and WordPress through each network’s official API.
How do I add a custom connector in Perplexity?
Go to Settings, then Connectors, add a custom remote connector, paste https://mcp.posteverywhere.ai, choose OAuth and Streamable HTTP, then sign in to PostEverywhere and approve the tools.
Which Perplexity plans support connectors?
Custom connectors need Pro, Max or Enterprise. The free version of Perplexity can use the built-in catalog only.
Does Perplexity Comet work with the connector?
No. Comet supports the built-in connector catalog but not custom MCP connectors. Use the Perplexity web app, desktop app or Computer.
Is this the same as Perplexity’s own MCP server?
No. Perplexity’s server gives other assistants access to Perplexity search. PostEverywhere’s server gives Perplexity tools to schedule and publish posts. They solve opposite problems.
Which transport should I choose?
Streamable HTTP. SSE is offered, but Streamable HTTP is the current protocol recommendation and the one we test against.
Is there a free trial?
Every plan starts with a 7-day free trial. A card is required to start it, $0 is due today, and you can cancel anytime. There is no free plan; the API and MCP server come with every plan rather than as an add-on.
