How do I connect Perplexity to PostEverywhere?
Add PostEverywhere to Perplexity as a custom connector with OAuth, then sign in and approve. Needs a Pro, Max or Enterprise Perplexity plan.
Add PostEverywhere to Perplexity as a custom connector, then sign in with your PostEverywhere account. No API key is needed, but custom connectors need a Pro, Max or Enterprise Perplexity plan.
Steps
- In PostEverywhere, click Agents in the sidebar (app.posteverywhere.ai/agents?agent=perplexity) and choose Perplexity. If you have not connected a social account yet, the page asks you to do that first. Click Connect a social account.
- Click Open Perplexity. Perplexity opens in a new tab, and the address
https://mcp.posteverywhere.aiis copied for you. - In Perplexity, open Settings → Connectors and add a custom connector.
- Paste the address. If nothing pastes, click Copy next to the address on the Agents page.
- Choose OAuth and Streamable HTTP. Leave the client ID and secret empty.
- A PostEverywhere sign-in window opens. Sign in if asked, check the account next to Signed in as, then click Approve.
- Ask Perplexity: "Show me my connected social accounts on PostEverywhere." The Agents page has a Copy button for this prompt.
The sign-in window may show a note that starts Check this address. It appears because Perplexity is not on PostEverywhere's list of recognised apps. Approve only if you started this connection in Perplexity yourself.
If you have no plan or trial yet, PostEverywhere asks you to choose one at step 6, then brings you back to Approve.
This works in the Perplexity web app, the desktop app and Computer. Comet, the Perplexity browser, only offers its built-in connectors.
Disconnect
- In PostEverywhere, open Agents and click the Connected tab.
- Find the Perplexity connection and click Disconnect. Click Disconnect again to confirm.
It stops working at once. The list uses the name Perplexity gives itself, so it may read a little differently. Only an owner or admin of your team can disconnect. If you are a member, ask one of them. The same connection is also listed on Developers → API Keys, where the bin icon revokes it.
To use Perplexity again, add the connector again in Perplexity and sign in.
If it does not connect
The PostEverywhere window says "Couldn't connect" If it also says "Unknown or revoked application (client_id)", the connector is using a client ID that PostEverywhere does not recognise. PostEverywhere does not give out client IDs or secrets. Set up the connector again with OAuth and Streamable HTTP, and leave the client ID and secret empty.
