Scheduling and publishing
How do I schedule a post?
Write the post, pick the accounts, choose a time in the When picker and click Schedule. Posts publish in your profile time zone.
Click New Post, pick your accounts, write the post, choose a time in the When picker and click Schedule. The post publishes at that time in your profile time zone.
Steps
- Click New Post in the sidebar, or click a day or time slot on the Calendar.
- Click the account avatars at the top to choose where to post.
- Write your caption and add images or a video.
- Click Per platform if a platform needs its own caption or options.
- Open the When picker next to the publish button. It says Now until you choose a time:
- Next queue opening: the next free slot in your Posting Queue.
- Best times: suggested slots, when available for your accounts.
- Quick times: a few upcoming times.
- Custom Time...: pick any date and time. Click Edit to change it.
- Click Schedule. If the When picker says Now, the button says Publish now instead.
The composer only lets you schedule when the post passes every check. Hover over or click a greyed button to see the list under To schedule this post:.
After scheduling
- The post shows on the Calendar and on All Posts with the status Scheduled.
- Posts are picked up within about two minutes of their time. Videos can take longer because the platform has to process them.
- Each platform in a post publishes on its own. One can post while another fails or waits.
Time zone
The digits you type are the wall-clock time in your profile time zone. The When picker shows the time zone next to Quick times. Change it in Settings > Profile > Timezone.
Save for later
Click Save Draft to keep a post without scheduling it. Find drafts on All Posts with the Status filter set to Draft.
