How we roast our autumn blend
Every October we change one thing about the roast, and you can taste it. Here is what changes, and why.
Blog posts, then the social posts that share them
Everything PostEverywhere does with WordPress
Draft the article, publish it to WordPress and share it everywhere from one calendar.
- Plan the blog with your socials.
- Articles and the posts that promote them sit in one content calendar, week by week.
- Draft articles with AI.
- AI Studio drafts the article from notes, ready for you to edit.
- Publish, draft or send for review.
- Choose Publish, Save as draft, Pending review or Private, with categories, tags, excerpt, URL slug and a featured image.
- No plugin needed.
- Connect a WordPress.com site or a self-hosted site on WordPress 5.6 or later with an application password.
- Delivery you can see.
- WordPress has no post stats API, so every article shows as published, or failed with the reason, and you can retry.
- Your agent writes and publishes.
- Ask your AI agent to turn meeting notes into a post and save it as pending review.
From draft to published
How the WordPress integration works
PostEverywhere talks to your site through the WordPress REST API, the same interface the block editor uses. You connect the site once, then write in the composer’s Blog post mode and choose when the article goes out.

- WordPressWordPress account
Step 1
Connect the site.
On the Accounts page, click Add Account on the WordPress row. Self-hosted sites enter their address and approve PostEverywhere in wp-admin; WordPress.com sites log in and pick the site.

Select only your WordPress site and the composer switches to Blog post mode, with a title, the body, categories, tags, an excerpt, a URL slug and a featured image toggle.
- Choose when it goes out. In When it goes out, pick Publish, Save as draft, Pending review or Private. Drafts and pending posts stay on your site until someone in WordPress publishes them.

WordPress publishing, answered
WordPress scheduling and publishing questions, answered
What bloggers, editors and developers ask before they publish WordPress posts from PostEverywhere or an AI assistant. The full walkthrough is our WordPress MCP guide.
Can you schedule WordPress posts with PostEverywhere?
Yes. Pick a date and time and PostEverywhere publishes the post to your WordPress site at that moment, on WordPress.com or a self-hosted site.
You can also publish straight away, save a draft, send it for review as pending, or publish privately. PostEverywhere handles the timing itself rather than handing WordPress a future-dated post, and the article shares one calendar with the social posts that promote it.
How do I schedule a WordPress post from PostEverywhere?
Connect the site once, select it in the composer so it switches to Blog post mode, write the article, set When it goes out, and pick a time.
- Give the post a title and write the body; headings, lists, links, quotes and tables become HTML.
- Set categories and tags by name, an excerpt and a URL slug, or leave those for WordPress to fill.
- Choose Publish, Save as draft, Pending review or Private.
- Attach up to 20 images and one video; the first image becomes the featured image unless you turn that off.
Do I need a WordPress plugin?
No. PostEverywhere uses the REST API and application passwords that are built into WordPress 5.6 and later, so there is nothing to install and no Jetpack requirement.
Does it work with WordPress.com and self-hosted WordPress?
Yes, both. Self-hosted WordPress connects through WordPress’s built-in Authorize Application screen in wp-admin, with a form for an application password as a fallback.
WordPress.com sites connect with your WordPress.com login, and you choose which site to use. Either way the site counts as one connected account.
What does a self-hosted WordPress site need to connect?
WordPress 5.6 or later, served over HTTPS, with the REST API reachable, and a user with the Administrator, Editor or Author role. A WordPress.com site needs only your login.
Some security plugins block the REST API or application passwords, and some hosts strip the authorization header; either will stop the connection until it is allowed. Creating brand-new categories needs an Editor or Administrator.
How do I share WordPress posts to social media automatically?
Schedule the article and the posts that announce it on the same calendar, and both go out on their own at the times you set. That is the job PostEverywhere does when people ask how to add social media to WordPress.
Share buttons on your theme are a different job, and they come from a WordPress plugin. In the app the article and its social posts are separate posts; through the API or an AI agent they can go in a single request. Our guide to repurposing content shows how to stretch one article into a week of posts.
WordPress planner and content calendar
PostEverywhere works as a WordPress planner: scheduled articles, drafts and pending posts sit on the content calendar in week or month view, beside the social posts that promote them.
Drag an article to a new day before it goes out, and give the blog weekly openings in the posting queue.
Is PostEverywhere a WordPress management tool?
For posts, yes: it writes, schedules and publishes them and shares them to social. It is not a site manager, so plugins, themes, users, settings and pages stay in wp-admin.
What it cannot do yet: pages and custom post types, SEO plugin fields and the post author, galleries and post formats, and editing or deleting a post from PostEverywhere once it is published.
Does PostEverywhere show WordPress analytics?
No. WordPress core has no stats API, so PostEverywhere does not report page views; use your site’s own analytics for that.
You do get delivery tracking: every post shows as published or failed with the reason, and the published permalink comes back so you can link to it.
Can I schedule WordPress posts from my own code?
For the full walkthrough, with request examples and common errors, see our WordPress API guide.
WordPress has its own REST API, and PostEverywhere’s API sits on top of it: one POST /v1/posts request publishes the article at the time you set, with no plugin and no auth code of your own.
PostEverywhere converts your formatting to HTML, uploads images to the Media Library and sets the featured image, categories and tags. The same request can carry the LinkedIn or X post that announces the article, and the API is on every plan.
What can my AI assistant do on my WordPress site?
Yes. PostEverywhere’s hosted MCP server at mcp.posteverywhere.ai works as a WordPress MCP server for WordPress.com and self-hosted sites, with no WordPress plugin to install.
Connect your site once, connect Claude, ChatGPT or any MCP client, and the agent can draft, schedule or publish blog posts with images, categories and tags, then schedule the social posts that promote them. The WordPress MCP guide compares this with the plugin-based route.
- create_post and schedule_post take wordpress settings: title, status, categories, tags, excerpt, slug and featured image.
- connect_credential_account connects a self-hosted site from the chat with its address, username and an application password.
- update_post changes a scheduled post or draft before it goes out; bulk_create_posts queues several at once.
- get_post_results returns the live permalink once the article is up.
Can ChatGPT or Claude publish to my WordPress site?
Yes. Connect Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or any MCP client to PostEverywhere and ask it to draft or publish a post.
It can also connect a self-hosted site, using an application password you create in wp-admin (Users, Profile) and give to it. Agent posts skip approvals, so ask for Save as draft or Pending review when an editor should read the article first.
Can I publish to WordPress from my phone?
Yes, from the web app in your phone’s browser, as well as from a computer. The native iPhone app does not include WordPress yet.
Is there a free WordPress post scheduler?
WordPress is included on every PostEverywhere plan from Lite at $9/month, with a site counting as one connected account. There is no free plan.
Every plan starts with a 7-day free trial; the card you add is not charged today, and you can cancel anytime.
One calendar
Schedule the WordPress post and its social posts together
Most teams publish a post, then open five more tabs to announce it. PostEverywhere puts the article and its promotion in one content calendar, so the blog post goes live on WordPress at the same moment the posts about it go out.
- Blog post mode.
- A composer mode built for articles, with a title, excerpt, URL slug, categories and tags.
- Same moment, or staggered.
- Time the announcement for the minute the article goes live, then add reminders across the week.
- Written for each audience.
- Each promotional post is its own post, so it can be short where the network is short and longer where it is not.

Auto-share every WordPress post to social media
Write the announcement while the article is open in front of you, schedule it beside the post, and both go out on their own at the times you set. There is no feed to watch and no plugin firing on publish: you decide what each share says, which accounts it goes to and when. Cross-posting covers the social side in more detail.
- One request from an agent.
- Through MCP or the API, the article and its shares can be sent in a single request.
- Shares that link to the post.
- Use the post’s URL slug so the link in each share is known before the article goes live.

Writers who draft with an assistant can stay in the chat. Ask Claude or ChatGPT to save the article as a draft, read it in WordPress, and publish when it is right. Developers get the same through the developer API: the WordPress post is one more entry in the request they already send.

Connect your AI agent
Publish to WordPress from Claude, ChatGPT or any AI agent
PostEverywhere is the agentic social media scheduler that works with all AI agents, and your blog is part of it. Connect your assistant to the hosted MCP server and publishing becomes a sentence: the agent formats the article, uploads the images to your Media Library, sets categories and tags, and publishes it now, schedules it, or saves it as a draft for you to review.
In the same request it can schedule the social posts that announce the article, so the post and its promotion go out together. Developers get the same thing through the social media API, on every plan. Our WordPress MCP guide walks through the setup in Claude and ChatGPT and compares the plugin route.
- Connect any AI agent.
- Add PostEverywhere to ChatGPT, Claude, Grok, Perplexity, Cursor or any other AI app that supports MCP with one address. It takes seconds.
- Ask in plain English.
- “Turn these notes into a blog post, save it as a draft on WordPress with the tag product-updates, and schedule a LinkedIn post about it for Tuesday.” Your agent writes every post for you.
- It schedules and publishes.
- Your agent can post now, schedule for later or save a draft for you to review. Every post lands in your calendar, and scheduled posts go out on time through each network's official API.

For AI agents
What your AI assistant can publish to WordPress
Most WordPress MCP servers administer a whole site. PostEverywhere does one narrower job: it publishes posts, and promotes them in the same step. It is not made by WordPress or Automattic, and setup for each assistant is on the AI agents page.
- Full blog posts.
- The assistant writes the title and article, attaches images, and sets categories, tags, an excerpt and a slug.
- Connect a site from the chat.
- Give the assistant your site address, username and an application password you created in wp-admin, and it can connect a self-hosted site itself.
- Drafts for a human read.
- Ask for a draft or a pending post and it waits in WordPress until someone publishes it. Agent posts skip PostEverywhere approvals, so a draft is the way to keep a person in the loop.
- Article and shares together.
- One instruction can schedule the post and the social posts that announce it, at the times you name.
- Posts, not site admin.
- It does not manage pages, plugins, themes, users or settings, and it cannot edit a post once it is live.
