Patch 2.4 lands Friday at 5pm UTC: dark mode, faster sync and the new emoji picker.
Full changelog goes up in #announcements the moment it ships.
Announcements through channel webhooks
Everything PostEverywhere does with Discord
Plan, write and post to every server channel you run, without hosting a bot.
- Plan channel by channel.
- Each webhook is one channel, so every entry in the content calendar already knows where it lands.
- Announcements with AI.
- AI Studio turns patch notes into announcements that fit Discord's 2,000 characters.
- Images, video and follow-ups.
- Attach up to 10 images or one video, and send follow-up messages in order.
- Pings under control.
- Post silently, stop @everyone and role pings, or override the webhook's name and avatar for one message.
- Delivery you can see.
- Discord reports no post analytics, so every message shows as posted, or failed with the reason, and you can retry.
- Your agent posts the release notes.
- Ask your AI agent to announce the release in #announcements on Friday at 5pm UTC.
Setup in two minutes
How to schedule a message in a Discord channel
PostEverywhere posts to Discord through an Incoming Webhook: a private address Discord gives you for one channel. There is no OAuth screen, no bot to invite and no app review, so the whole setup happens inside your server settings.

Step 1
Create a webhook for the channel.
In Discord, open Server Settings, then Integrations, then Webhooks, and click New Webhook. Name it and choose the channel it should post in.

Copy the webhook URL.
Click Copy Webhook URL. It looks like discord.com/api/webhooks followed by an ID and a token, so treat it like a password.
- Connect it in PostEverywhere. Open Accounts, choose Connect Discord and paste the URL. PostEverywhere checks the webhook with Discord before it saves the connection.

Discord content specs and limits for scheduled messages
| What you send | How it reaches Discord |
|---|---|
| Message text | Up to 2,000 characters per message |
| Images | Up to 10 per message, shown as embeds |
| Video | One per message. Up to 20 MB uploads as a file; larger videos post as a permanent link |
| Follow-up messages | Add more messages in Thread mode and they post one after another |
| Channel | One webhook posts to one channel, so connect a webhook per channel |
| Name and avatar | The webhook’s own, unless you override them for a single message |
Images are embedded by URL rather than uploaded as attachments. They look much the same to members, but the image sits in a preview card instead of a file.
Discord scheduling, answered
Discord message scheduling questions, answered
What server owners and community managers ask before they hand their announcements to a scheduler: webhooks, pings, the Discord API and AI agents.
Can you schedule messages on Discord?
Not inside the Discord app: there is no scheduled send for users. You can schedule Discord messages with PostEverywhere, which posts each one through a channel webhook at the time you choose.
Nobody has to be online when it goes out, and there is no bot to host, so a 3am patch note or a Sunday reminder lands on time while the team sleeps.
How do I schedule a message to a Discord channel?
Connect the channel’s webhook under Accounts in PostEverywhere, write the message, pick a date and time, and press Schedule.
- In Discord: Server Settings, Integrations, Webhooks, New Webhook, choose the channel, Copy Webhook URL.
- In PostEverywhere: Accounts, Connect Discord, paste the URL. It is checked with Discord before it saves.
- In the composer: write the message, add images or a video, set pings and identity if needed.
- Schedule it for an exact minute, or drop it into the next queue opening.
Is there a Discord scheduling integration, and does it need a bot?
A webhook, not a bot. PostEverywhere connects to Discord with an Incoming Webhook, one per channel, so there is nothing to invite into the server and nothing to keep running.
Anyone allowed to manage webhooks on the server can create one in about a minute. Treat the URL like a password: whoever has it can post to that channel. If the webhook is deleted in Discord, posts to it fail until you create a new one and reconnect it.
Can I schedule images, video and embeds to Discord?
Yes. Attach up to 10 images to a message and they appear as embeds, or attach one video: up to 20 MB it uploads as a file, and larger videos post as a permanent link that Discord plays inline.
Custom embed fields such as titles, colours or footers are not set from PostEverywhere. For a long update, Thread mode adds follow-up messages that post one after another, each with Discord’s full 2,000 characters.
Can I stop a scheduled Discord message pinging @everyone?
Yes. The Discord panel in the composer has a Don’t ping @everyone/@here/roles switch, so mentions show as text but nobody is notified.
Silent post goes further and delivers the message with no notification at all. You can also give one message its own username and avatar, such as Release Bot for patch notes and Events Team for reminders, through the same webhook.
Can I manage multiple Discord servers and channels?
Yes. Connect a webhook for each channel, in as many servers as you run, and tick the channels you want for each message.
Each connected channel counts as one account on your plan, from 2 on Lite to 20 on Scale; see pricing. Moderators can share the workspace on plans with more than one seat.
Can I edit a Discord message after it is posted?
Not from PostEverywhere. Change a scheduled message or a draft as often as you like before it goes out; once it is in the channel, edit it in Discord.
Is there a free Discord message scheduler?
PostEverywhere has no free plan. Discord scheduling is on every plan from Lite at $9/month.
Every plan starts with a 7-day free trial. The trial needs a card, nothing is charged today, and you can cancel before it ends.
Discord planner and content calendar
PostEverywhere doubles as a Discord planner: every message sits on the content calendar in week or month view, labelled with the channel it posts to.
Drag a message to a new day before it sends, and use the posting queue for recurring openings so a weekly roundup keeps its slot.
Does PostEverywhere show Discord analytics?
No. PostEverywhere does not report Discord post analytics such as views or reactions.
You do get delivery tracking: every message shows as published, or failed with the reason, and a failed one can be retried once the webhook is fixed.
Can I schedule Discord messages from my own code?
Discord’s own API includes webhooks for posting into a channel, but it has no way to hold a message until a future time. PostEverywhere’s REST API sits on top of that webhook and adds the schedule.
You send one POST /v1/posts request with the message, any images and a scheduled_for time, and PostEverywhere makes the webhook call at that minute, so you skip running a bot or a cron job of your own. It is on every plan, and the guide to posting to Discord with an API walks through payloads, image embeds and common errors.
Is there a Discord MCP server for posting announcements?
Yes. PostEverywhere runs a hosted MCP server that lets Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or any MCP client write, schedule and fix Discord messages for the channels you have connected.
It is built for publishing, not for chatting inside the server: it posts through your webhooks and cannot read channel history, manage roles or moderate members. It is not made by Discord, and it is included on every plan. Setup for each assistant is on the AI agents page.
- connect_credential_account connects a channel from a webhook URL you paste into the chat.
- create_post and schedule_post post now or at a set minute, with Discord settings such as silent or no pings.
- bulk_create_posts queues a run of reminders in one call.
- get_post_results and retry_failed_post find a message that did not send and send it again.
Can ChatGPT or Claude post to my Discord server?
Yes. Connect Claude or ChatGPT to PostEverywhere and ask it to write a message for any connected channel, then post it now, schedule it or save it as a draft.
It only publishes: it cannot read your server or moderate it. Agent posts do not go through approvals, so ask for a draft when a moderator should read it first.
Can I auto post to Discord on a schedule?
Yes. Schedule each message ahead and the webhook posts it with nobody online, or set queue openings so new messages go out on a steady weekly rhythm.
For a repeating reminder, schedule each occurrence ahead, ask your AI agent to queue the next few weeks, or load a season of reminders from one CSV with bulk scheduling.
Every webhook channel on one week
Plan your Discord content calendar, channel by channel
Because each webhook belongs to one channel, every entry in the content calendar already knows where it lands: #announcements, #patch-notes or #events. Batch a week of updates in one sitting, drag a reminder to a better slot, and spot the channel that has gone quiet before members do. A posting queue gives you recurring openings, so new messages fill the next free slot.
- Week and month views.
- Each message sits on its day with its channel, so a busy launch week is easy to read at a glance.
- Drafts you finish later.
- Half-written patch notes wait as a Draft until the release is confirmed.
- Bulk upload.
- Load a season of event reminders from one CSV with bulk scheduling, up to 200 posts per upload.

Pings, silence and webhook identity
Decide who gets pinged, and who the Discord message is from
Some messages should wake the whole server. Most should not. The Discord panel in the composer lets you decide per message, using the same options a webhook supports, so a 2am maintenance notice never pings three thousand people.
- Silent post.
- Members receive the message without a notification sound or badge.
- Don’t ping @everyone, @here or roles.
- Mentions still show as text, but nobody is notified. Handy when you quote a role name in a changelog.
- Username and avatar override.
- Post one message as “Release Bot” and another as “Events Team” through the same webhook. Leave them blank to use the webhook’s own.

Generate Discord announcements and updates that fit in 2,000 characters
Stuck on how to word a delay or a rules change? AI Studio drafts announcements in the direct, community-first voice servers respond to, sized for Discord’s 2,000-character message. Give it the facts, and it writes a version you can edit before scheduling. More on that in the AI content generator.
- From notes to announcement.
- Paste a rough changelog and get a short intro, a bullet list and a call to action that fits under 2,000 characters.
- Follow-ups in order.
- Split a long update into a first message and follow-ups that post one after another.

One webhook per channel
All your Discord channels, one dashboard, one webhook each
Each webhook is bound to one channel, so every channel you post to is its own connection: #announcements, #patch-notes and #events in one server, or one channel in each of several servers. All of them sit on one Accounts page, which suits agencies and community teams running more than one server.
- Pick channels per message.
- Tick #announcements for the big news and #patch-notes for the detail, in one go.
- Team seats.
- Moderators and community managers can schedule from the same workspace on plans with more than one seat.

General starting points, not measured from your audience.
The posting queue helps with the steady stuff. Set weekly openings for a channel and every message you add takes the next free slot, so community roundups go out evenly without you picking times. The presets are starting points, not measured from your audience, so adjust them to when your server is actually awake.
Launches are where scheduling pays off most. Write the announcement while the release is fresh, queue it for the minute the build goes live, and spend launch hour answering questions instead of formatting a message. Teams that post the same news elsewhere can cross-post it from the same composer and tailor each version.
Developers can do all of this in code. The developer API schedules Discord messages with the same request used for every other channel, and the guide to posting to Discord with an API walks through webhook payloads, image embeds and the mistakes that trip up first integrations.

Connect your AI agent
Or let your AI agent schedule Discord announcements for you
PostEverywhere is the agentic social media scheduler that works with all AI agents. Connect your assistant to the hosted MCP server once, and it can write release notes, event reminders and weekly roundups, then queue them for the exact channel and minute you name. The full API is included on every plan too.
Your agent can post now, schedule for later, or save a draft for you to review. Whatever it schedules shows up in your calendar beside everything else, so a moderator can read it, move it or delete it before the webhook fires.
- Connect any AI agent.
- Add PostEverywhere to ChatGPT, Claude, Grok, Perplexity, Cursor or any other AI app that supports MCP with one address. It takes seconds.
- Ask in plain English.
- “Turn these patch notes into a Discord announcement for #announcements, keep the pings off, and post it Friday at 5pm UTC.” Your agent writes every post for you.
- It schedules and publishes.
- Your agent can post now, schedule for later or save a draft for you to review. Every post lands in your calendar, and scheduled posts go out on time through each network's official API.

Discord MCP server: your agent posts through channel webhooks
One connector address gives Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or any MCP client the tools to write and schedule Discord channel messages. It posts through your webhooks, it is not made by Discord, and setup for every assistant is on the AI agents page.
- Release notes on cue.
- Ask for the v1.4 announcement on Thursday at 4pm UTC with a three-point bullet list, and the agent writes and schedules it.
- A month of reminders in one ask.
- Have the agent queue a game-night reminder every Friday for the next four weeks, each worded a little differently.
- Pick the channel by name.
- Each webhook shows up as its own account, so “post this to #patch-notes” is enough for the agent to choose the right one.
- Drafts when you want a look first.
- Ask for a draft and it waits in the calendar as a Draft until someone publishes it. Agent posts do not go through approvals, so say “draft” when a human should read it.
- Publishing only, by design.
- The agent can post, list and fix failed messages. It cannot read channel history, manage roles or moderate your server.
