Scheduling and publishing
Why did my post go out late?
Posts are picked up within about two minutes of their time. Videos take longer on the platform. Held posts wait for a reconnect or an X window.

Posts are picked up within about two minutes of their scheduled time. A video post can take several more minutes because the platform has to receive and process it. A post that waits longer is usually held for a reason you can see in its details.
Normal timing
- The scheduler runs every two minutes and picks up posts due in that window.
- Text and image posts usually publish within a minute of being picked up.
- Video posts upload to the platform first, then the platform processes them. TikTok and Instagram can take several minutes before they confirm a video.
Reasons a post waits longer
Open the post and read the note under the platform:
- Account needs reconnecting: the post is held and tried again daily for up to 7 days. It goes out as soon as you reconnect the account on the Accounts page.
- X (Twitter) limit reached: the post is held until the window reopens.
- Temporary platform error: the post shows Retrying and is tried again with a growing wait, up to 3 attempts.
- Video still processing in PostEverywhere: a video is converted to MP4 after upload. The composer does not let you schedule until it is ready, but a very large video can still be processing close to its time.
What to do
- Open the post from the Calendar or All Posts.
- Read the status and note under each platform.
- If an account needs reconnecting, reconnect it. The post releases on its own.
- If the post says Failed, fix the cause and click Retry Failed.
