AI agents and API

How do I connect Gemini CLI to PostEverywhere?

Run one command from the Agents page, then /mcp auth posteverywhere in Gemini CLI, sign in and approve. No API key needed.

Updated 23 October 2026

Run the command from the Gemini CLI card on the Agents page, then run /mcp auth posteverywhere in Gemini CLI, sign in and click Approve. No API key is needed.

Steps

  1. In PostEverywhere, click Agents in the sidebar (app.posteverywhere.ai/agents?agent=gemini) and choose Gemini CLI. If you have not connected a social account yet, the page asks you to do that first. Click Connect a social account.
  2. Check that you use Gemini CLI, Google's terminal agent. The Gemini app cannot add custom connectors yet.
  3. Click Copy command. The card also shows the command in a box with its own Copy button:
gemini mcp add --scope user --transport http posteverywhere https://mcp.posteverywhere.ai

  4. Run it in your terminal. Keep --scope user. It makes PostEverywhere work in every folder.
  5. Start Gemini CLI and run /mcp auth posteverywhere.
  6. Sign in to PostEverywhere when asked, check the account next to Signed in as, then click Approve.
  7. Ask Gemini CLI: "Show me my connected social accounts on PostEverywhere."

The command adds PostEverywhere's hosted MCP server, https://mcp.posteverywhere.ai. If you have no plan or trial yet, PostEverywhere asks you to choose one at step 6, then brings you back to Approve. Check Gemini CLI's own plan for MCP support.

Disconnect

  1. In PostEverywhere, open Agents and click the Connected tab.
  2. Find the Gemini CLI connection and click Disconnect. Click Disconnect again to confirm.

It stops working at once. The list uses the name Gemini CLI gives itself, so it may read a little differently. Only an owner or admin of your team can disconnect. If you are a member, ask one of them. The same connection is also listed on Developers → API Keys, where the bin icon revokes it.

To remove PostEverywhere from Gemini CLI too, run gemini mcp remove --scope user posteverywhere. To connect again after a disconnect, run /mcp auth posteverywhere in Gemini CLI and approve. If you removed it, run the command from the card again first.

If it does not connect

Gemini CLI does not show the PostEverywhere tools Start Gemini CLI, run /mcp auth posteverywhere, then sign in and click Approve. If posteverywhere is missing when you work in another folder, it was added without --scope user, so Gemini CLI saved it to one project only. Run the command from the Gemini CLI card again.
