X Article: our sourcing playbook
We plan a month of posts in one afternoon. Here is the exact system, step by step.
Tweets, threads, polls and X Articles
Everything PostEverywhere does with X
Everything you post on X (Twitter), planned, written, published and measured from one place.
- Plan tweets and threads.
- Single tweets, threads and X Articles sit in one content calendar week view.
- Write threads with AI.
- AI Studio drafts tweets and splits long posts into threads that fit 280 characters, or 25,000 on Premium.
- Polls, quotes and Articles.
- Publish polls, quote posts and, on X Premium, long-form X Articles with images.
- Labels and Communities.
- Label posts as made with AI or as a paid partnership, choose who can reply, or post into an X Community.
- Impressions on demand.
- Press Refresh in Analytics to pull impressions, likes, replies, reposts and bookmarks from X.
- Your agent runs the thread.
- Ask your AI agent to turn a blog post into a thread and schedule it for the morning.
How it works
How to schedule tweets and threads on X (Twitter)
To schedule a post on X, connect your account, write the tweet or thread, attach any media, pick a publish time, and PostEverywhere publishes it through the official X API at that moment. Scheduling Twitter posts and scheduling tweets are the same job: X renamed the product in 2023, most people kept the verb, and both work here.

Step 1
Connect your X account.
Sign in with X and approve access. Add as many accounts as your plan allows and pick one per post.

| X Article | Title up to 100 characters, body up to 25,000 characters, up to 5 images and no video; X Premium only |
| Articles per day | Two per X account every 24 hours. An Article scheduled past that cap is held until X resets it |

X (Twitter) scheduling, answered
Straight answers on scheduling tweets, the X API and posting with an AI agent
What people search about scheduling on X (Twitter), its API, its MCP servers and planning a month of tweets, answered in full.
Can you schedule posts on X (Twitter)?
Yes. The X app schedules a single post where your X plan includes it, and PostEverywhere schedules tweets, whole threads, polls, quote posts and X Articles through the official X API, for several accounts at once.
You do not need X Premium to schedule standard posts. Tweets and threads of up to 280 characters per tweet schedule from any free X account; Premium only matters for posts longer than 280 characters (up to 25,000) and for X Articles. X Pro, the desktop column view, needs X Premium+.
How do I schedule tweets?
In the X app, open the composer, write the post, tap the calendar icon, pick a date and time, then tap Confirm and Schedule; in PostEverywhere, write the tweet, choose the X account and pick a time or the next queue opening.
On a phone, use the PostEverywhere iPhone app, or the web app in any mobile browser on Android. Whichever route you use, the post sits in your calendar until it goes out and you can change it until then.
How do I schedule a thread on X?
Write the opening tweet, click Add Another Tweet for each reply, and schedule the whole thread for one time; it publishes in order, each tweet replying to the one before.
Images or a video go on the first tweet; the replies are text only. AI Studio’s Thread format drafts 3 to 10 tweets with the hook first if you want a starting point, and our 100 X content ideas has thread topics when you need one.
Can you schedule X Articles?
Yes. PostEverywhere publishes and schedules X Articles from the composer, the REST API and the MCP server, as long as the X account has X Premium.
Each account can publish two Articles every 24 hours; one scheduled past that cap is held until X resets it rather than dropped. Our guide to posting articles to X covers the format in depth.
- Title: up to 100 characters.
- Body: up to 25,000 characters.
- Images: up to 5, the first used as the cover.
- Video: not allowed in Articles.
Can you post to X with links?
Yes. Put the URL in the post text and PostEverywhere publishes it with the link; X builds its usual link preview from the page’s own tags.
Know the trade-off before you do. As our guide to how the X algorithm works explains, posts with external links reach noticeably fewer people, and its advice is to put the link in a reply. A scheduled thread does that for you: thread replies are text only, so the URL can sit in the second tweet while the first one carries the image. X also charges more for API posts that contain a link. Your plan includes X posting within a monthly X budget; if a workspace goes over it, links can be taken out of X posts for the rest of the month, while a post that is only a link still goes out as written.
Can I schedule polls, quote posts and Community posts on X?
Yes. Click Add poll for a poll of two to four options on a text-only post, paste a Quote Tweet URL to schedule a quote post, and choose Post to an X Community to publish inside a Community the account already belongs to.
Each post can also set Who can reply and carry X’s disclosure labels: Label as made with AI and Label as paid partnership. Replies to other people’s posts cannot be scheduled, but your own threads can, because each tweet in them replies to your previous one.
Is there a free X (Twitter) scheduler?
PostEverywhere has no free plan; every plan starts with a 7-day free trial, then plans start at $9 a month. Add a card when you sign up, $0 is due today, and you can cancel anytime in the seven days.
Elsewhere, X’s own composer schedules a single post where your X plan includes it. Among third-party tools, Buffer’s no-cost option connects X with three channels and 10 scheduled posts each, Typefully’s allows 10 posts a month, and Publer’s does not connect X at all. The comparison table has the details.
What is the best X (Twitter) scheduler?
PostEverywhere: it schedules tweets, whole threads, polls, quote posts and X Articles from one composer through the official X API, and X posting is included in every plan, so there is no API tier to buy.
Your AI agent can write and schedule the same posts through the hosted MCP server. If you only write threads for X and a few text networks, Typefully is a narrower option, and for X-only lead tracking look at Tweet Hunter. See the comparison for prices.
Where do I see my scheduled tweets?
In PostEverywhere’s content calendar and All Posts list. Scheduled Twitter posts, threads and X Articles wait in PostEverywhere until their time and then publish through the official X API, so they aren’t in X’s own drafts or scheduled list.
Click any scheduled tweet to edit it, move it or delete it. Once it goes out, it shows as published, or as failed with X’s reason so you can fix it and retry.
Can I schedule tweets from my own code?
Yes. X has its own official X API, and PostEverywhere’s REST API sits on top of it: you schedule a tweet, a thread or an X Article with one request, and skip X’s developer app setup, token handling and per-post charges.
X now bills per request to publish through its API. Its developer pricing lists $0.015 to create a post and $0.200 for a post that contains a link, and tools pass that cost on in different ways: Publer keeps X out of its no-cost option, and Hypefury no longer supports X at all. Our breakdown of what the X API costs directly runs the numbers.
With PostEverywhere you connect the X account once, create an API key on the Developers page and send POST /v1/posts. The API is included on every plan, and X posting with it. The X API guide lists every field, and our tutorial on scheduling X posts with an API walks through a working integration.
Is there an X (Twitter) MCP server?
Yes. PostEverywhere runs a hosted X MCP server that lets Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or any MCP client publish tweets, threads and X Articles to the X accounts you connect, through the official API.
Many X MCP servers on GitHub read timelines or automate replies and stop working when X tightens access. This one publishes only, so it does not scrape, follow or reply. You add one connector address to your assistant and it can create, schedule and draft posts, upload media, and list what is already scheduled. Setup is on the AI agents page.
- Split an article or transcript into a thread that fits the limit.
- Publish an X Article with a title and cover image.
- Post from the brand account or a named personal one.
- Apply the made with AI or paid partnership label, or post into a Community.
Can ChatGPT or Claude write and post my tweets?
Yes, once connected to PostEverywhere: ask Claude or ChatGPT for a tweet, a thread or an X Article and it publishes, schedules or saves a draft on your X account.
Claude connects as a connector (Claude setup) and ChatGPT as a custom MCP server (ChatGPT setup). Leave out a time and the post goes out straight away; give one and it is scheduled; ask for a draft when you want to check the order of a thread before the first tweet goes out.
X planner: how do I plan a month of X (Twitter) posts?
If by X planner you mean planning what you post on X, PostEverywhere puts every tweet, thread, poll and X Article for all your X accounts in one week or month content calendar.
Block the slots first, then write into them. Drag a post to another day when news changes, add new posts to the posting queue so they take the next free opening, or load a month at once from a CSV of up to 200 rows. Image sizes for planned visuals are in our X (Twitter) aspect ratios guide.
Can I see X (Twitter) analytics in PostEverywhere?
Yes, on demand: press Refresh in Analytics and PostEverywhere fetches impressions, likes, replies, reposts and bookmarks for your X posts.
X numbers are not pulled in the background, which is why the button exists. Every post also shows whether it published or failed, and the Delivery tab gives the reason when one fails.
Can I auto post to X within X’s posting caps?
Yes. Scheduled tweets publish automatically at their time through the X API, with no reminder to tap.
Keep a steady flow by setting queue openings, uploading a CSV, or letting the API or an AI agent add posts. X applies fixed publishing caps whatever your plan: 100 posts an hour and 500 a day per organization, and 50 per 15 minutes per account, so spread large batches across the day.
How do I manage several X (Twitter) accounts?
Connect personal, brand and client X accounts to one workspace and pick the account for each post; they all share one calendar, filterable to one account at a time.
Plans include 2 connected accounts on Lite up to 20 on Scale, and free and Premium X accounts can sit side by side, each with its own character limit and Article allowance. Publishing the same idea to Threads too? See posting the same thing to X and Threads, or LinkedIn and X together.
Is it safe to use a third-party X (Twitter) scheduler?
Yes, if the tool publishes through the official X API with access you approve when you connect, which you can revoke from your X settings at any time.
PostEverywhere only publishes to accounts you have authorised; it does not read timelines or automate replies. The bigger risk is a tool dropping X after an API price change, so pick one whose plans clearly include X.
Your X week, planned
Plan your X (Twitter) content calendar: tweets, threads and Articles in one week view
Lay out the week before you write a word: a thread on Monday, a poll on Tuesday, an X Article midweek. The content calendar shows every scheduled tweet across your X accounts, you drag one to a new slot when the news changes, and the posting queue fills the gaps between them.
- Every format on one grid.
- Tweets, threads, polls, quote posts and X Articles each sit on their day with a preview of the text.
- Drag to reschedule.
- Move a thread to the afternoon without rewriting a single tweet.
- A month of tweets from a CSV.
- Load up to 200 rows in one file with bulk scheduling and review them on the calendar.

AI thread drafting for X
Generate threads tuned for the X algorithm
The first tweet of a thread decides whether anyone reads the rest, and it is the only one that can carry an image or video. AI Studio’s Thread format drafts 3 to 10 tweets with the hook first, and you edit each one before scheduling. For quick ideas, try the free X thread maker, hook generator and hashtag generator.
- Hook, body, payoff.
- The draft opens with the hook, builds through the middle and ends with a takeaway or a call to follow.
- Each tweet stands alone.
- Tweets get reposted out of context, so each one is written to make sense on its own.
- Improve caption with AI.
- Tighten a rough tweet to fit the limit without losing the point.

Long-form on X
Schedule X Articles, the long-form format on X (Twitter)
X Articles are X’s native long-form posts: a title and a body of up to 25,000 characters, read without leaving X. PostEverywhere publishes them from the composer, the REST API and the MCP server, and schedules them like any other post. Our guide to posting articles to X walks through the format.
- Room for the full piece.
- A 100-character title, a 25,000-character body and up to five images. Video is not allowed in Articles.
- X Premium accounts.
- X only lets Premium accounts publish Articles, and each account can publish two every 24 hours.
- Held, not dropped.
- Schedule a third Article inside the same 24 hours and it waits for X’s daily reset, then goes out.
An X Article is a long post with a title. It publishes to X only, and your X account needs X Premium.
Our sourcing playbook: how we choose every bean we roast
56/100Every bean on our menu passes the same five checks before we buy a single sack. This is the scorecard, and why each check exists.
First, we taste it three ways: espresso, filter and with milk. A bean that only works one way does not make the menu.

General starting points, not measured from your audience.
PostEverywhere is built on the official X API, and scheduled tweets publish at the minute you set. For a full breakdown of ranking, read how the X (Twitter) algorithm works, and for timing, our best time to post on X guide.
Threads are where most accounts grow. A strong first tweet earns the click, the middle delivers, and the last tweet gives readers a reason to follow for the next one. Write the hook last if you have to, but never skip it.
Replies are the other half of growth on X, and they cannot be scheduled because they only work live. A sensible split: keep your own posts, threads and quote posts on a schedule so the feed stays active, and spend the time you save replying to people in your niche.
If you run a personal account and a brand account, they usually want different rhythms. The brand posts a few times a day about what you make; the personal account posts more opinions, threads and replies. Both live in one dashboard here, and the X username checker helps when you launch a new handle.
The same idea can also go to LinkedIn, Threads, Bluesky, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest, Telegram, Discord and Google Business Profile through cross-posting, each in its own version.

Connect your AI agent
Or let your AI agent write your X (Twitter) posts, threads and Articles
PostEverywhere is the agentic social media scheduler that works with all AI agents. Once your assistant is connected to the hosted MCP server, it can write a punchy single post and schedule it, publish a full X Article, or turn an article into a thread, all through the same account your team uses. The full API is included on every plan.
Your agent can post to X now, schedule for later, or save a draft for you to review. Your agent writes threads and X Articles; Articles publish directly. A thread can go out now, at a time you pick, or as a draft so you can check the order of the replies before the first tweet goes out.
- Connect any AI agent.
- Add PostEverywhere to ChatGPT, Claude, Grok, Perplexity, Cursor or any other AI app that supports MCP with one address. It takes seconds.
- Ask in plain English.
- “Turn this article into a 6-tweet thread with a strong hook, and put it in PostEverywhere ready for me to schedule for tomorrow at 9am.” Your agent writes every post for you.
- It schedules and publishes.
- Your agent can post now, schedule for later or save a draft for you to review. Every post lands in your calendar, and scheduled posts go out on time through each network's official API.

X (Twitter) MCP server for your AI agent
An X MCP server, still widely searched as a Twitter MCP server, lets an assistant post to X through the official API. Many X MCP servers on GitHub read timelines or automate replies and break whenever X tightens access; PostEverywhere only publishes, to accounts you have authorised. Setup for every assistant is on the AI agents page, and the REST route is in our guide to scheduling X posts with an API.
- Threads from long text.
- Hand the agent an article or a transcript and ask for a thread; it splits the text into tweets that fit the limit, then posts the thread, schedules it or saves it as a draft.
- X Articles on request.
- Ask for an article and the agent publishes one with a title of up to 100 characters and a body of up to 25,000.
- The right account by name.
- Connect several X accounts and say which one to use: “post this from the brand account, not mine”.
- Labels and Communities.
- The agent can mark posts as made with AI or a paid partnership, or post into a Community the account belongs to.
- Now, later or a draft.
- Give no time and the tweet goes out now; give one and it is scheduled. Ask for a draft and it waits in your calendar for you to review.
