Can I tag people, add a location or add hashtags?

Hashtags work: type them in your caption. Tagging people and adding a location are not available in the composer today. Instagram collaborators, people tags and product tags are not available yet.

Hashtags#

• Type # in the caption on any platform.
• Instagram allows at most 30 hashtags per post. The composer blocks the post if you have more.
• Pinterest indexes the description for search, so hashtags work there too.
• Write with AI has a Hashtags quick action that adds relevant hashtags.

Mentions#

• Threads and X (Twitter) read @names in the text.
• On LinkedIn, @names post as plain text. They are not clickable mentions.

Tagging people#

• The composer has no people tag or collaborator field.

Location#

There is no location field for any platform.

You can add alt text for images on Instagram, X (Twitter) and Pinterest under Per platform.
