Connecting accounts
Why does the Facebook connect ask about Instagram?
Facebook and Instagram share one Meta login. Connecting a Page also offers the Instagram account linked to it. Nothing is duplicated.
Facebook and Instagram are both Meta products and share one login. When you connect a Facebook Page, Meta's permission screen also asks about the Instagram account linked to that Page. PostEverywhere uses that to connect the linked Instagram at the same time, so you do not have to do it twice.
What happens
- You click Add Account next to Facebook and tick your Pages.
- Meta asks you to allow access to the Instagram accounts linked to those Pages.
- PostEverywhere connects the Pages, and also the linked Instagram accounts, each as its own account.
Already connected Instagram?
If an Instagram account is already connected directly (through Add Account next to Instagram), PostEverywhere skips it during the Facebook connect. You never end up with the same Instagram twice, and posts are never doubled.
Which way should I connect Instagram?
Connecting Instagram directly with Add Account next to Instagram is the preferred way. It uses Instagram's own login, needs no Facebook Page, and gives a longer-lived connection. The Facebook route is a convenience for people who connect their Page first.
Does each one count?
Yes. A Facebook Page is one account and the linked Instagram is another.
