How do I post to YouTube with PostEverywhere?

Connect your YouTube channel and schedule video uploads, including Shorts.

Connect#

1. Open Accounts and click Add Account next to YouTube.
2. Sign in with the Google account that manages the channel. If Google lists several channels or Brand Accounts, pick the one you want by name.
3. Tick every box on Google's permission screen.

What you can post#

Video	1 per post. Required. Up to 12 hours and 256 GB. MP4, MOV, WEBM, AVI and more
Title	Required, up to 100 characters
Description	Up to 5,000 characters
Tags	Up to 500 characters in total
Images or text only	Not possible on YouTube

Shorts: YouTube decides what is a Short. A square or vertical video up to 3 minutes long becomes a Short. No separate option is needed.

Settings in the post editor#

Open Customise per platform and the YouTube card.

• Title and Description.
• Tags: comma separated.
• Visibility: Public, Unlisted or Private.
• Category.
• Custom thumbnail: click Select Cover Photo under the video preview. The cover becomes the thumbnail. YouTube only accepts custom thumbnails on phone-verified channels (verify once at youtube.com/verify).
• Add to playlists: pick playlists on your channel. Channels connected before this option existed need one Reconnect to grant it.
• Made for kids: the COPPA disclosure.
• Altered or synthetic content: turn on for realistic content made or changed with AI.
• Notify subscribers, Language, License (Standard YouTube or Creative Commons), Embedding and Public stats.

Settings only YouTube Studio can change#

YouTube does not let any app set these: comments on or off and moderation, likes on or off, age restriction, paid promotion, Shorts remixing and caption certification. Set them in YouTube Studio.

After you publish#

PostEverywhere checks the video again after YouTube finishes processing it. If YouTube rejects it (for example a copyright claim or a duplicate), the post shows as failed with YouTube's reason. If the visibility on YouTube differs from what you chose, the post shows a warning. Open the video in YouTube Studio to see why.

Troubleshooting#

• "Exceeded the number of videos you may upload": YouTube's own daily upload limit for the channel. Wait 24 hours and retry. See YouTube upload limit.
• Thumbnail not applied: the channel is not phone-verified.
• "Reconnect this YouTube channel" next to playlists: click Reconnect on the Accounts page once.
